## Appearance

- **Theme** — System / Light / Dark. The whole launcher is in the visual language of stygion.eu.
- **Density** — comfortable / compact.
- **Whole-app scaling** — a slider, persisted.
- **Language** — complete Czech and English.
- **Window size** — the launcher opens at about 85 % of your screen (at least 940 × 600), centred; drag to resize.
- **Motion** — short transitions; when your system asks for less motion the launcher does not move at all. You can turn them off.
- **Sounds** — short sounds on press, finish and error, made inside the launcher, nothing downloaded. Default volume 25 %; switch them off here.

### Support / tickets

- A **Feedback** button in the titlebar (or Settings → Support).
- After signing in with STYGION ID: bug / feedback / question → a ticket on the web + a Discord channel for the team.
- You pick the ticket type with **pills** (not a native dropdown).

## Game

- **Java** — Auto (the launcher manages it) or a path of your own.
- **Memory** — **Auto**, or a value of your own. Auto gives instances with mods **75 % of the computer's RAM** (up to 12 GB; at least 3 GB always stay for the system), while plain Minecraft stays at 2–3 GB. What you set yourself is not changed. Below 16 GB of RAM the game starts with 1 GB and grows when it needs to.
- **JVM args** — the default is **Recommended**: a set worked out for the Java that actually runs the game (client-tuned G1, compact object headers on Java 25, generational ZGC only for a big pack on a strong machine). An older saved "None" reads as Recommended; your own flags stay.

## Updates

The Windows installer and the AppImage update **themselves on launch**: download, install and relaunch — all in-app. You see the **changelog** before installing. The **Updates** page shows channel status and a manual check.

Releases are driven by internal **Release Control** (channels alfa / beta / stable), so you get the build from the channel that suits you.

**Who updates depends on where you got the launcher.** A copy from a store (Microsoft Store, Flathub) or a package manager is updated by that source, not by the launcher: Settings → Updates shows who does it instead of the channels.

## Privacy

We take it seriously:

- **Telemetry is anonymous and can be switched off** — it is on by default, and you turn it off in the Privacy section of settings. It sends version, channel, OS/arch and a random install_id. **No personal data, IP not stored.**
- **Error reports, only if you agree.** The launcher asks once whether it may send a short description when something breaks (a launcher crash, a failed start or install, the cause of a game crash). No name, accounts, file paths or IP. Off by default; change it anytime in **Settings → Privacy**.
- **Friends can see what I play** and **Discord Rich Presence** are two separate switches, both yours.
- **Discord Rich Presence** (on by default, **can be switched off** in Settings → Privacy; switching it off clears the card on Discord at once) shows on your Discord profile that you are playing, **only while the game runs**: the instance name, "On …" (the address of the server the launcher joined for you) or "In the menu", the time since the game started, a STYGION MC or Minecraft image and two buttons linking to stygion.eu (STYGION MC and the Launcher). It goes **only through your own running Discord** (a local connection) and nothing is sent to our servers; the launcher reads nothing from Discord. The card follows the launcher language. Without a running Discord nothing happens.
- **Badges** have their own settings in **Settings → Badges**: who sees them (Public / Friends / Nobody), hiding a single badge, the public leaderboard, notices. All in [Badges](/docs/launcher/odznaky).
- **The benchmark** has its own settings in **Settings → Benchmark**. **No hidden benchmark or hardware scan:** a measurement starts only on your command, the result stays with you until you send it yourself (with consent and a view of exactly what is sent), and a sent run can be withdrawn and unlinked from your account. Passive measurement is off by default. All in [Performance and the benchmark](/docs/launcher/vykon).
- A **clear notice** on first run (GDPR legitimate interest).
- A crash log is uploaded to mclo.gs only after your second confirmation, with tokens, UUIDs and your home folder hidden first.

## About

Version, channel, links and the state of the services. It says the launcher is not an official Minecraft product and is not approved by Mojang or Microsoft. The **Support** button (the heart in the side rail) opens stygion.eu: the launcher is free and stays free; donations pay for servers and development. **Experimental features** (today: Potato Mode) are switched on here.

## In progress

- **Keyboard shortcuts** (configurable, with a cheatsheet).
- **Guided tour** over finished features.
